Course Description

This class is designed to introduce students to a range of poetry and fiction, and in the process introduce them to a range of techniques and craft elements with which they will improve their own (or begin their own!) writing. The class will meet once a week for lectures and vigorous discussions of the texts and techniques, exercises and possible exams. There will be two smaller meetings each week as well, during which you’ll work closely with an instructor and your classmates. Texts will include a poetry and fiction anthology, as well as individual collections of poetry and fiction.
