We will be meeting once every three weeks on Thursday evenings from 7-8 pm--specific dates 1/31, 2/21, 3/14, 4/4, 4/25-- for cocktails and discussion of Thomas Anstey Guthrie's Vice Versa: A Lesson to Fathers (1882). Vice Versa is a comic novel about father and son trading bodies and lives, which has served as the bases for swapped identity narratives since! The text is easy to find using Amazon Prime. One or two of these meetings will also feature drinks or dinner with a professor, much in the style of last semester. And of course, this is a low stakes/flexible commitment sort of way to engage with Victorian fiction. Come to as many meetings as you'd like! Please let me know if you would like to join us or would like to be on the listserv for the group, or if you have any questions.
