Request for evaluation of English course content from another institution for transfer equivalency.
Course Credit Transfers
Important Note
The Department of English only evaluates course content in order to determine what IU English course is equivalent to the course you took at another institution.
For all questions about credit hours, minimum grade requirements for transfer courses, and to confirm that coursework comes from an accredited institution, please contact the Office of Admissions.
You can also find more information on the Credit Transfer Service website.
Documentation
To determine equivalency, the English department requires you to upload a detailed syllabus, including the course outline, course prerequisites, list of assignments, textbook(s) used, and the chapters covered. If possible, upload a copy of your final paper or another major assignment with your instructor's feedback.
Course descriptions alone will not be accepted.
It can take 4-6 weeks to evaluate a course. You will be notified via email when a decision has been reached.
