- Course Description
- This class will examine the worldwide popularity of the mystery/crime fiction literary genre through the lens of the BBC radio program “Foreign Bodies.” Through paired readings of novels, critical sources, and the BBC podcasts, we will trace how the police procedural/detective drama genre conventions stay the same across continents even as writers adapt key elements of the narrative conventions to better suit their legal systems and cultural contexts.
