Course Description

W513 is an intensive workshop in the writing of poetry. We will focus on discovery, craft, form, poetics, process, and revision. We will discuss the poems you write. In addition to writing poems and submitting them to workshop there will be in-class and take-home assignments. We will also read several collections of poetry by writers both past and present. Enrolled MFA creative writing students are automatically accepted into the class and should email bhankins@indiana.edu for permission. All others wishing to take the class should send a writing sample to cabowman@indiana.edu.
